SEA FREIGHT & CHARTERING
Ocean-Crossing
Heavy Tonnage Power
Competitive advantage in iron-steel and commodity trading is achieved through the accurate management of sea freight costs. The Ayhan Steel Chartering Department sails your tens of thousands of tons of products across the open seas in the safest and most cost-effective manner, thanks to direct relationships established with the world's leading shipowners.
Breakbulk Cargo and Ship Chartering
For your massive volume orders such as steel billet, rebar, and agricultural fertilizer (Urea), we transcend container limits and charter dry bulk vessels directly.
Based on CFR (Cost and Freight) or CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) contracts; we optimize your route with Part-Cargo or Full Vessel chartering options according to your project's tonnage. We conduct flawless Laytime planning that reduces the risk of demurrage penalties at ports to zero.
- Dry bulk vessel chartering capacity from 5,000 tons up to 50,000 tons.
- Expertise in Fixture contracts and Laytime (loading/discharging time) calculations.
Container Line Transportation (FCL)
For your steel coil, zinc ingot, precision steel strip, or Big Bag packaged fertilizer orders, we provide services through special contracts with global container lines (MSC, Maersk, CMA CGM, etc.).
Depending on the type of material, we allocate 20'DC (Heavy Cargo), 40'HC, or Open Top containers; and on your behalf, we secure Freetime agreements to minimize your storage costs at the Port of Discharge (POD).
- Secure and unshakable shipment with FCL (Full Container Load).
- Extra Freetime advantage at the port of discharge.
STEVEDORING PROCESSES
The most critical stage of sea transport is placing the cargo in the ship's hold without damage.
Lashing & Dunnage
To prevent the cargo from shifting in ocean waves, Lashing (securing with steel wire) and Dunnage (supporting with wooden chocks) are performed by our expert stevedore teams in accordance with international maritime rules.
Bonded Warehouse Storage
Before the ship berths, your products are safely unloaded, sorted, and protected from weather conditions in Bonded Warehouses at the port.
Draft Survey and Inspection
For bulk cargoes, a precise weighing process based on the ship's displacement (Draft Survey) and the attendance of independent surveyors (such as SGS/BV) during loading are ensured.
